• It has a single HDMI input and so the ARC capability but the HDMI cable is not included, It comes with an optical cable

• Both work just depends what you want to use. Though it doesn't come with an HDMI cable so you need to connect your own.

• Soundbar includes both HDMI/ARC and digital audio connections. I hooked it up to a 32" Emerson TV with HDMI/ARC and it did not work. However, using the digital audio connection worked fine.

• The soundbar has an optical input and a HDMI ARC. You can use either however HDMI will require a separate cable purchase as only optical cable is included.

• It works either way. There are ports for HDMI arc and optical cable.
