A:Answer This receiver will accept red and white audio (composite, aka RCA) cables and a 3.5mm audio cable (like the ones on wired earbuds and headphones). If your TV has either or both of these audio output sources you can plug either one into the Sony STR-DH130 Receiver and hear your TV. If you use a Satellite or Cable receiver as your video source, you can use the aforementioned composite cables from that receiver's audio output source and connect it to the Sony receiver.
The speakers you mention will work with this audio receiver. Keep in mind that it is only a 2.0 channel receiver, so any audio from your video source that is say, 5.1 or higher will not sound the same as it would with a a multi-channel receiver. 2.0 audio receivers are fine for news, sports, talk shows, etc. and are fantastic for music audio; particularly with a turntable, CD or magnetic tape player. I bought this receiver to play LP's and with the Polk bookshelf speakers I have connected to it I am very satisfied with the sound.
