“Does this record in MP3 I would like to use this to make an audio CD and MP3 file. I gues my first question is does this record in mp3 format and do you have any suggestions as to perhaps adding an external microphone? Any info is appreciated”

It records MP3 and has a 1/8" jack for an external microphone.
