Hi, JoshBeck! Unfortunately, it must be connected to an amplifier/receiver for it to work. It requires a standard speaker wire for connection. Please try again later.To get the ATMOS effect the speakers must be placed into a system with that capability (receiver or pre-pro or whatever system that claims Dolby ATMOS). Some sound bars do ATMOS themselves which eliminates the need for other ATMOS speakers. How well they do this should be tested prior to purchase (have them demo’d in a store). ATMOS is best accomplished with ceiling or high wall mounted speakers wired through an ATMOS capable processor. I have two pair of the Sony ATMOS speakers sitting on top of my front and rear floor standing speakers. It sounds better than nothing but not ideal.
