A:Answeryes you can! In fact the instructions state that they are designed to also be placed up high as an alternate placement to putting directly on top of your towers. They even come with keyhole mounts on the back of each speaker so you can mount them on the wall for this purpose. Hope this helps!
A:AnswerThe speakers and your equipment will be just fine. Each speaker will be powered by an output on the a/v receiver - one speaker/one output. 6 ohms would be manageable by all receivers available today. If you would begin daisy chaining speakers together, then that is where the problems enter in (i.e. 2 speakers on one output).
A:AnswerHi Jace98,
Great news! This speaker can be mounted facing downward and you can still get Dolby Atmos.

A:AnswerHi Lukaz, thank you for reaching out. Yes! These speakers will be great when installed on your floor standing speakers. Unlike conventional speakers, they are designed specifically to reflect sound off your ceiling for truly all-encompassing audio. By installing the unit with the speaker faced towards the ceiling, the effect of sounds coming from overhead can be obtained as the output sound reflects from the ceiling. You can also attach the back of the unit to the wall with the speaker facing towards the ceiling for a much more immersive surround experience!
Sound quality depends on the signal and content. Surround sound is not present at all times. During periods of the main dialog, most of the sound may come from the center speaker only, with audio coming out of the rear speakers when there is background or ambient noise. It is also necessary to adjust the volume of the speakers or change the surround sound mode of your receiver according to your preferences.
Please refer to the setup guide of the unit for more information: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4735/71c058e4c7385e627f27472574d04a8b/47356710M.pdf.

A:AnswerHi Baba, thank you so much for your inquiry. Yes, these speakers will be good for movies or music. However, to maximize the feature of our SS-CSE, we recommend using it as a front high speaker or a Dolby Atmos-enabled speaker. The SS-CSE speakers are designed exclusively for Dolby Atmos—theater-worthy surrounds sound technology—and also work great with other advanced surround formats like DTS: X™. I hope this helps! Thanks! - Romeo
A:AnswerYes - I have these on top of my Polk bookshelf speakers and they are awesome. I even have high ceilings and when adjusted the height of my ceilings in the Sony receiver these are awesome. Play the Matrix 4K Dolby Atmos scene with the helicopter and they are worth every penny
A:Answerno theyre meant to go on top of the main speakers or mount on the wall they reflect the sound off your ceiling hope this helps they have brackets on the back for wall mounting
A:AnswerHi, JoshBeck! Unfortunately, it must be connected to an amplifier/receiver for it to work. It requires a standard speaker wire for connection. You may refer to this link for more information:

A:AnswerThe add ons are designed for a flat drywall ceiling because they reflect off ceilings.
For a vaulted ceiling these addons can be wall mounted.
Check out Dolby Labs installation layout information
Depends also on flexibility of your AVR
A:AnswerYes they will work. You could put them in any position you want. S left S right is fine, but your receiver can only handle up to 5. If u have speakers already it would be to replace 2 of them.
A:AnswerHi RyanH, thank you so much for your inquiry. Yes, you can use these speakers as rear speakers in a 5.1 channel setup. However, to get the most out of our SS-CSE Atmos speakers, we recommend using it as a Dolby Atmos-enabled speaker or a front high speaker with a Dolby Atmos-enabled amplifier/AV receiver. I hope this helps! - Romeo
A:AnswerThat’s how I’m using mine except I have them free floating instead of mounted to rear speakers. They add a nice low-mid punch to cinema sound and help sell the “3D” sound mixes that movies virtually all employ now. Mine are mounted 10 feet up near the corners of the back wall in a 12 foot tall room. I have them angled towards the ceiling and the back wall to maximize the throw and bounce of their more bass heavy sound and the Atmos effect.
A:AnswerAtmos can be accomplished with the following configuration - left front, right front, center channel, left surround, right surround, subwoofer + two other speakers either aimed toward the ceiling from the top of your front left and front right speakers or positioned (affixed to) on the ceiling above the listening position. These extra speakers provide an ambient effect such as rain on the roof, planes overhead, etc. This example would be called a 7.1 system. This would be the basic Atmos system. Adding extra speakers on the ceiling will only duplicate the first set (a 9.1 system). Adding two more speakers behind the listening area becomes an 11.1 system. Adding another subwoofer to the equation would respectively create 7.2, 9.2 and 11.2 system configurations.
A:AnswerAs I understand these speakers are made to bounce off ceiling when pointed up. or up close to ceiling. I believe they can be used as regular speakers too. I have mine connected to the "height" terminals and not the "surround" With Atmos there are right and left "surround that are to be about 4' off floor pointed at the listener. The "height speakers (which these speakers are made for) as to be pointed at ceiling at height 4-6 ft off floor or mounted high on wall close to ceiling to give you the sound from above. I believe these speakers are designed for the reflection off ceiling. From Sony "The compact SS-CSE speaker can sit on top of your existing speakers for an even more immersive surround experience. Unlike conventional speakers, they are designed specifically to reflect sound off your ceiling for sound that is truly all-encompassing.
Wall-mounted front high for a cinematic experience, or Wall-mounted front high for a cinematic experience. Upgrade to a pro-theater setup by mounting the discreet SS-CSE speakers on your wall in different positions, such as front high above your TV. The result is more effective multi-dimensional, Dolby Atmos sound that's serious about home entertainment.
Hope this helps,
