They certainly can be used for sound in small room, but they are designed in such a way that placing them in a way that doesn't aim the sound towards the ceiling is awkward. Using them alone would not give you "Atmos" sound, but having their sound traveling to the ceiling and reflecting downwards without being timed and controlled by an Atmor decoding audio receiver, might give you a weaker or slightly echoing effect, depending on the shape of your listening room.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are specifically designed for dolby atmos, you could use them as regular speaker but not sure why you would.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I connected them to a mini-amplifier and the sound would easily fill a small room. Just be sure the amplifier can provide ample wattage. I believe these speakers can take up to 100W each.
