Can these be used with a sound bar with a sub? null

These speakers can be used with any powered receiver such as the str-dn1080. These are not meant to be used with a sound bar. Your sound bar may have capabilities for wireless Bluetooth enabled satellite speakers.

I think they have to be hooked to a Dolby atmos enabled source or A/V receiver to work properly.

As long as the Sound bar has Positive and Negative Access points in the rear I don't see why not. However, I recommend getting an atmos receiver with a solid amp to push the sound through.

If your soundbar is passive and powered with a receiver, then there is a chance that you will be able to use it. However, if your setup is a proprietary system, then unfortunately they can't be incorporated into your system.

Dan if your sound bar have this type of speakers output, yes you can!
