Hi James, Thank you for your inquiry regarding your home audio setup. Most floor-standing speakers are passive, which means they do not have a built-in power source or internal amplifier. Because of this, they cannot be connected directly to the TV’s ports to produce sound. We suggest connecting the TV to an A/V receiver or amplifier. In this configuration, the receiver acts as the "brain" of the system, taking the audio signal from the TV and providing the necessary power to drive your floor speakers. For the best experience, the TV is typically connected to the receiver using an HDMI (eARC/ARC) cable or a Digital Optical cable.
