Better get a surge protector just in case.

To protect your TV from nearby lightning strikes or power surges during a possible brownout, you need to get a surge suppressor. A six plug power strip IS NOT a surge suppressor and won't protect a TV from surges and brownouts. It is likely that you can buy such a device at Best Buy, sold either in the Home Theatre department, or in the computer department, or in the electrical department at a home center store, such as Lowe's or Home Depot.
