Neither, it an OLED ( organic light emitting diode). It’s a different technology. Very expensive up till a couple years ago. Sony was the pioneer in this technology. Main benefit is the blacks are black and the whites white with no bleed over. Also, infinite viewing from the side.

Neither. This TV doesn't have lights like an LED. In this TV each of the over 8 millions pixels is self illuminating so essentially there are 8 million 'back lights' that can be turned off and on independent of one another.
