Boosting OLED color and contrast for extra depth and realism
Over 8 million self-illuminating pixels are precisely and individually controlled by the Picture Processor X1 Ultimate.
Acoustic Surface Audio
Sound on conventional TVs with a speaker located below the screen is often out of sync with the picture. With our Acoustic Surface Audio, sound comes to you from the entire screen, creating an immersive multidimensional audio experience.
Watch what you love, control it with your voice
Sony’s Android TV with Google Assistant makes it easier to get more from your TV. Press the Google Assistant button on your remote to quickly search 500,000+ movies and shows.

Supreme resolution, whatever you're watching
Any kind of content can be upconverted to lifelike 4K resolution with Sony’s unique 4K X-Reality PRO and Object-Based Super Resolution.
TRILUMINOS Display, bringing you all the world’s colors
By widening the color spectrum, TRILUMINOS Display, powered by the Picture Processor X1 Ultimate, reproduces more colors than a conventional television.
Bright and clear motion
With pictures created by millions of individually controlled pixels, everything is sharp and clear on OLED. And with our X-Motion Clarity technology, even fast action stays smooth and clear.
Supreme pictures and sound, whatever the environment
Sit back and enjoy the best possible viewing experience. Sony's unique Ambient Optimization technology automatically adjusts picture and sound to your environment.
Works with Apple AirPlay
With Apple AirPlay 2, you can stream video and audio to your television right from your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Watch movies and shows from your favorite apps and the Apple TV app, or even Safari. Share your photos with everyone in the room.
Well-connected to your smart home
With Google Nest Devices and Amazon Alexa compatibility, simply voice-control your TV and ask it to do things like cast and control videos from YouTube with Google Nest or change the channel or volume with Amazon Alexa.
See the big picture with HDR, Dolby Visions, IMAX Enhanced and Netflix Calibrated Mode
High Dynamic Range picture is the way TV was always meant to be watched. Ultra-high resolution and HDR video content combine to bring dazzling detail, color and contrast to everything you watch.
Incredibly thin one-slate design
With our super-slim one-slate design, the screen meets the edge of the TV, blending harmoniously in any room environment. The flush surface with narrow aluminum bezel keeps you focused on the picture, not the television.
Mount your Sony TV like a work of art
The SU-WL855 ultra slim wall-mount bracket is designed to hang select Sony BRAVIA OLED and LED TVs flush to the wall, just like any other work of art. Pull out your TV and swivel it left to right to adjust the screen angle for optimal viewing.
Experience content as the director envisioned
When pictures are digitally compressed from film to TV, quality is compromised and your experience is not as the director intended in the studio. A wide range of unique features lets you enjoy studio-quality entertainment in your own home.
High performance calibration for professionals
Our TVs receive high performance calibration that has never previously been possible using Calman software. It allows adjustments to be made with finer precision than conventional picture quality settings.

Very Happy
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this TV for almost 2 years now, and still love it as much as when we first got it! The OLED is an outstanding picture right out of the box. They say Sony is less bright than a Samsung, due to being more true to color. So up to your preference there; we think the true color looks better than artificial brightness. Have not had any issues yet.

Best TV I’ve seen in my lifetime
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I realize many people may not be interested in TVs of this size. My space wouldn’t permit anything larger. But honestly the picture is absolutely the best I have ever seen, period. To call it lifelike is an understatement. It’s like being there. Color depth, accuracy, sharpness is all best in class. The Google Os is fine, and Chromecast built in is great also. I can’t find one thing I dislike or would change. It’s just the best TV I’ve seen personally in my 65 years. If you’re trying to decide, just stop and buy this. You may find cheaper but you WILL NOT find better, period!

The size is perfect for the space and it looks very classy! I went with the height (mounted) that the super helpful(!!) guys from the Geek Squad recommended and it is perfect! I haven’t had a Sony tv in many years and am enjoying the crisp, vibrant color and clear sound!❤️ Again, recommended by Best Buy sales professional who helped me place my order in store. The guys who did the installation were very polite, knowledgeable and patient! ( Had to work out some ‘issues’ with my existing system!) Wish I had been prepared to tip them but it wasn’t suggested online. Really regret it as they resolved the problems and did a great job! I’m new to Best Buy and my experience was great from purchase to installation!

WOW
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow I never had a TV this large. I love it! The picture is great and so clear. Setup was easy but takes two people to lift into place. My sister loved it too and went and bought one. She loves it as well.

Sony is the best way to go
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is the best TV I have ever purchased. I already have a 32 inch Sony TV that I’ve had since 2011 and it is still working and still in good condition. The color on the 50 inch TV that I just bought is incredible. I stick by Sony 100%. It is a fantastic TV.

Bravo to Bravia
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Clear picture, solid sound, smart features work for our family and it fits perfectly in the space we needed it to. We were looking for a TV with a pedestal type stand and this one came exactly as needed to fit on the wall mounted platform stand that we previously had for one of the older model analog TV's. We did not want to have to purchase a new wall mount and make new holes in the wall. This one is diagonal across two walls and you barely notice the platform it sits on. If you are not wall mounting your TV pay close attention to the width of the feet that newer TV's come with. They may be spaced too wide for the stand or chest you may be looking to sit it on. They also appear more flimsy than pedestal type stands.

Q: Questioncan anyone give me any opinions/thoughts between this model tv and the 48" LG C1 model. thank you in advance
Asked by mrmet.
- A:Answer I bought the LG C1 48 before returning it after 3 weeks and picking up the Sony A9S. While the C1 had an amazing picture, I found the AI processing of the sound component to be annoying and I turned it off. In addition, the build quality seemed slightly inferior and the set developed a slight coil whine after about a week. I returned it and bought the A9S, as I have owned other Sony TVs that I was satisfied with and I knew that LG made the OLED panels for Sony anyway. The A9S has a more solid build quality and the Android TV interface is more intuitive and also supports ChromeCast from other devices like phones. Having said all of this, if I were a gamer I would probably have stuck with the C1 due to its HDMI 2.1 support. Since I only watch content on this set, I actually prefer the picture of the A9S over the C1. I hope this is helpful to you.

Q: QuestionDo you find it necessary to attach a soundbar or is the TV alone good enough?
Asked by fussbudget.
- A:Answer I wear hearing aids in both ears and can watch and listen with volume at 25 to 28 and can hear ok. without my hearing aids it is 35 to 38 for prime time shows like FBI most wanted and Blue Bloods which for some reason have a quieter dialogue. I have this tv in the bedroom. I hope this helps.

Q: QuestionHow many HDMI inputs does this have and how do I connect my four devices to the tv?
Asked by Matt.
- A:Answer Hey Matt The Sony A9S has 4 HDMI ports. #1 is on the TV’s left edge, #’s 2,3 and 4 are on the back of the TV. All four ports support 4K resolution. Connection is HDMI cable from TV to each device, The remote has an “Input” button to find each input number for each device. Very easy, once you know where to look. If this Boomer can figure it out, anyone can

Q: QuestionDoes it have the xfinity streaming app, or do I need to purchase a roku?
Asked by Tara706.
- A:Answer No it does not. Only select LG and Samsung Tv's from 2017 forward have the Xfinity Stream app. I have it on my Samsung. This link lists which tv's can get it : https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/activating-xfinity-stream-smarttvs Sony does not support it. Also note as of right now LG does not have HBO Max. Roku is a great solution and supports both Xfinity Stream app and HBO Max for me on all my other tv's. Plus, Roku has a new Roku Express 4K with HDR- 2021 model (3941R) that has voice remote, upgraded processor, and a better, farther and faster dual band wi-fi (2.4Gh and 5Gh) and comes with a new ultra high speed hdmi cable - capable of 4K and 18Gbps. Get in on sale for $29.99 normally $39.99. Sales go on often. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/roku-express-4k-2021-streaming-media-player-with-voice-remote-tv-controls-and-premium-hdmi-cable-black/6449512.p?skuId=6449512
