The stand comes in the box as a separate piece that can be installed if needed.

Hi dougmack, Thank you for purchasing the new Sony 48 inch A90K OLED TV. Yes, the stands can be removed and the TV can be mounted to the wall. As for the sizes, the 48 inch has the following dimension : TV only: 1069 x 624 x 68 mm (42 1/8 x 24 5/8 x 2 3/4 in)
TV with Stand (Standard Position):  1069 x 629 x 225 mm (42 1/8 X 24 7/8 x8 7/8 in)
TV with Stand (Soundbar Position): 1069 x 697 x 225 mm (42 1/8 x 27 1/2 x 8 7/8 in)

As for the 42 inch model : 
- Without the TV stand: 36.73 x 21.50 x 2.24 inches (933 x 546 x 57 mm)
- With the TV stand (soundbar position):  36.73 x 24.41 x 8.86 inches (933 x 620 x 225 mm)
- With the TV stand (standard position): 36.73 x 21.69 x 8.86 inches (933 x 551 x 225 mm)
