I think it is odd that Sony sales this TV as VESA compliant, yet recommend you spent $100+ for what amounts to an expensive work around to a flawed design. This TV is going back tomorrow. I had rather have the Insignia ROKU with none of the problems this TV has. I thought I was buying a Superior TV, but apparently this one is a miss.

Sony advised that I didn't need to use the lower screws (those are actually for the table top stand) and only needed to use the upper mounts with the barrel adapters that were included. It is a very bad design, as the mounts are not completely secure, but once I slid the mounts higher, away from the HDMI 1/Digital input, and tightened them down, it worked. Just make sure you make the mounts even on left and right, and then when you hang it, the weight of the TV will keep them from moving around.
