• Yes this model does have HDR with the software update. We purchased one and it updated for about 30 minutes on high-speed network. Our model was manufactured in May 2017 so the update is definitely available. The XBR-700D is a great budget HDR 4K TV.

• No, it doesn't come with hdr built in. You have to install via update which nobody knows when available, including sony.
