“I am placing the Sony - Model:XBR49X800E in an entertainment cabinet with open front. Will I need side clearance for cooling, if so how much? There is open back space. Will it support a non Sony sound bar?”

Hi Frosty, A normal ventilation hole will do and it will support non-sony soundbar as long as they have the same connections. Thanks, >Joffrey
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We have ours in a built in with maybe 18" behind the TV and over a foot above which provides for adequate ventilation. Other sound bars can be used. However if yours has a R&L RCA type jack you will need a patch cord with 2 female RCA's feeding into a mini jack which is the output on this Sony.
