Non-HD programming (regular TV, not Netflix, for example) looks 'OK' at best. It looks "smudged", like a watercolor painting. It lacks 'crispness' and detail. Even HD programming on broadcast TV can vary from channel to channel. Some look great, others not so much. The TV does not "enhance" the picture. (SD is SD, you can't turn it in to HD regardless of the claims)
