Hi Jimbob, No it's not. Like any WiFi device with ethernet port, if you turn off the WiFi card and disconnect the ethernet cable even though the router WiFi is on, it still will not work since the WiFi card is turned off and the router will not be able to find it. If by some odd chance it does then it means the WiFi card has a software bug and will just need to be updated to correct that on a Software Update which happens atleast once every month from what I'm experiencing with my X900E TV.
