Hi Michelle, Thank you for your interest in our XBR49X800H TV. Unfortunately, recording TV program is not a feature available on the TV. The USB port of the TV functionality is for updating software and playing music, picture or videos from a USB devices connected to TV. We hope that this helps. – Chris
