“Whenever I try to increase the volume (usually 25+), it works for about 15-20 seconds, then the sound stops, the blue display freezes at "HELLO" and about 5-10 seconds later the whole system turns itself off. Does anyone else have this problem?”

We have not had this issue are your TV speakers shut off? If they are then I would disconnect and reconnect everything
