The Sony CDP-CE500 CD Changer offers an analog audio line output jack and a digital optical audio output to connect to a separate amplifier. The Sony CD player operating instructions indicate on page 9 that If you have a digital amplifier, you can connect the digital optical audio output on the rear panel of the Sony CD player to an available digital optical input on the amplifier. You will need a digital optical audio cable to make this connection. You will need a Dynex DX-AD128 |SKU:9699131 digital optical audio cable to make this connection. If your amplifier does not offer a digital optical input, then you can use the supplied audio patch cable that is included with the Sony CD player with rca style connectors on both ends to connect the line output jack of the CD player to an available analog rca line input jack on your amplifier. Do not connect the Sony CD player to a dedicated PHONO input. Good Luck.
