All TV's that advertise 4K or UHD resolution will display whatever you send into the TV at the 4K level (this is how ALL TV's work - they only support the max resolution directly while all lower resolutions are "upscaled" by the TV). Unless you're streaming 4K content from Netflix, Amazon or similar, or if you have a BluRay player that plays UHD discs (and you're actually watching a UHD disc), you will only be seeing an upscaled version of whatever you're sending to the TV. With that said, I'm personally not impressed with the picture processing capabilities on this TV. The 800E sets are MUCH better.
