Hi Jen, XR55X90CJ/XR55X90J is a 2021 model, a newer compared to our 2019 XBR55X850G. They are both great TVs. The backlight type of the X850G is Frame Dimming while the X90CJ is Local Dimming. In terms of picture processor, X850G has the 4K HDR Processor X1 while the other has the Cognitive Processor XR. With regard to the speaker type, X850G has the Acoustic Multi-Audio while the other has Acoustic Multi-Audio Sound Positioning Tweeter, X-Balanced Speaker.
