Hi Antknee, You can use your existing wall mount as long as it supports 15 3/4 x 7 7/8 inch (400 x 200 mm) wall mount hole pattern. -Jerome
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same situation as you. I was using an Omnimount wall mount for our 46" and the weight limitations were borderline with the 46". I found a similar mount by Omnimount that would accomodate a 55" and perhaps more important was the weight of the TV. So I changed out the wall mount. The VESA confirguration is 200. Note: The 46" wall mount had a VESA configuration where the struts were in an "X" configuration. The 55" wall mount was specified as a VESA 200 where the struts were parallel horizontal. Per my own experience I would go with one that was well within the parameters of screen size and weight capacity. Pay attention to making any adjustments to the line of sight (viewing angle) and make any changes when setting up your new TV. We ended up mounting it about 2" higher. I was tempted to go higher but...I don't believe it's a good idea. Just get into a chair that you normally would be sitting in and then calculate the angle. We ended up with the screen almost 1' above my line of sight with a ~ 10 degree angle drop. We could drop it further if we wanted to...but unlikely or push the TV back more upright (to "0" degree drop). Hope this helps. By the way, do not attempt to wall mount by yourself...get another set of hands.
