“I know this TV doesn't support Dolby Vision out of the box. However, a press announcement from Sony, dated 1-4-17, said that Dolby Vision will be supported by a future firmware update. Does anyone know when -- or if -- Sony will keep its promise?”

Contact Sony Customer Support, go thru prompts and select TV....folks are pretty good. If you ever get routed to Escalation Dept. be aware that I believe these folks are a contracted 3rd party and may not have the same compassion towards....of all people...a Sony Customer. Just a heads up.

A Sony rep happened to be in the Best Buy store when I bought the Sony 55" A1E. The rep stated the hardware is ready...all that's needed is a firmware update.
