Renee, This IS a "SMART" TV. It has all the apps as my 65 inch 3D smart tv that is in the living room, but actually has other apps that my other does not, such as the ability to play "You tube" vids that my older set does not allow. It has the same apps and functions my other tv has and with even more that is now offered and more functions that my other smart tv does not have.
