I'm not an expert but Netflix never asked us if we wanted to upgrade our account to "4k" when we got the 690. It may be 4k but not as far as Netflix is concerned, and it is definitely not an HDR television. We took the 690 back and bought the X850E and as soon as we connected to our Netflix account it asked if we wanted upgrade to "4k". For what it's worth the 850 is a much nicer TV over the 690 and worth the extra money,,,, and no "Judder" issues watching Netflix like the 690.
