“What is the real difference between the XBR-65X850D and the XBR-65X930D TV's, besides $500 more for the 930???”

• The 930 has local diming where the 850 is edge lit. However the 930 panel runs very hot. The 930 does have a better picture but I doubt that normal source material would show much if any difference. Sony has good information on back lighting on their website.

• 930D is 3D TV where as 850D is not. If 3D is important for you then you are stuck with extra $500.

• The 65" Class 930D, it is a LED and 3D TV and the 850D is not a 3D................
