I'm not sure what you're getting at. OLED televisions are susceptible to burn in so you need to keep that in mind when using it. Playing the same game constantly, watching only movies that display a black bar above and below due to the aspect ratio or leaving a show with consistent patterns (CNBC, Weather Channel, etc.) will kill your TV - especially if you have it set to "vivid" or other high brightness setting. I have no idea what you are referring to when you say total loss of HDMI failure. That is a completely different issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a similar burn in issue with a LG OLED 65" curved model purchased in January 2017 (OLED65C6P). A couple years ago I noticed a couple of logos and banners burned in at the bottom of the screen, mostly noticeable when there is yellow, orange, or red in that part of the TV picture. I've learned that the OLED screens are susceptible to burn in if stagnant images are left on the screen for long periods of time. I our case I think we had paused morning news programs for too long (sometimes a couple hours) while being called away to meet with contractors doing a renovation in another part of our condo building. I tried several YouTube burn in fixers running for hours with no improvement. Looking online it seams like many OLED TV owners have similar issues. I purchased a Samsung QLED about 18 months ago to replace the LG. From what I understand the QLED is less susceptible to burn in. I missed the awesome picture of the OLED screen and decided a couple months ago to go back to OLED because of the superior picture quality for my main viewing room with the a new 2020 Sony XBR-65A8H OLED model. I have now set screen savers on our cable box, Apple TV box, and on the TV itself to hopefully avoid damage on the new TV.
