It is supposed to. May be your remote is not paired with your sound box.

That message usually appears when the TV recognizes an external system but the HDMI-CEC communication isn't fully active. To fix this, please ensure your HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI 3 (eARC/ARC) port on the TV and that "BRAVIA Sync" is enabled in your Sony settings. You should also check the Bose app to ensure "HDMI-CEC" is set to "On" so the devices can talk to each other.
