Configure the TV setup with the tv remote to tell it how to turn off. Then configure the cable remote to the TV. This does take a bit of experimenting to get everything in sync.

How you would make sure the tv is off after turning off the cable box, the LED on the bottom and directly center below the bezel of the tv there should not be a faint white colored led unless you turned off the LED in the settings. If there is then your tv didn’t turn off and might have gone to the home screen by default which would have recommendations in home screen based on your viewing habits if you setup the full google tv experience. The other option is your cable box may be sending content to your tv when its still on. All Sony 2021 tvs have a feature called Bravia Sync and if your tv is connected thru a highspeed HDMI cable to your source it should turn on or turn itself off when other devices are off. You can leave your cable box on at all times if you want and just turn off the tv when you are finished watching but with Bravia sync any device that is connected to the tv with a HDMI cable will turn the tv on if that product is turned on for any reason. This is a feature you can turn off in the settings if needed but is is on by default when you first setup you tv. Hope this helps, -Ralph
