Hi JayDee, thanks for your inquiry. The IR IN port connects to the Home Controller. These jacks are for receiving the external control signal. And it enables extended control of the TV using RS-232C via the RS-232C and IR IN jacks. And no, you cannot connect a wired IR sensor to the IR IN port. Note: The RS232C control setting is for professional use only. Hope this helps! -Sam
