That is what the source resolution is that is being sent to the TV and then the TV up-scales that signal to 4K if it is lower than 4K.

If you are getting a 1080 HD resolution, then that's what the TV is receiving from the input source. -Jerome

It does make any image you send it look good, but the fact is it needs 4k content to really shine. Buy 4k disks on sale with a 4k player, or connect t v to internet and go on YouTube. Search “ 4k” and enjoy!
