A:AnswerHi artw, One of the differences between X850F (specifically 85") and X850E is the backlight technology. XBR85X850F has a direct LED while X850E models have an edge LED type of backlight. Aside from that, X850E is a year older than X850F.
A:AnswerIt depends, this TV came out in Jan 2017 so it is old. The x850F series is the new 2018 version. So you can look at that for a comparison. Ask an employee what the differences are between them for a comparison at the store(s) you visit. I believe that the HDR tech is one of the differences. The employee I spoke with said that for the money difference he would go with the E series.
