“I recently bought a sony XBR65900E and when bright screen displays I see gradient oscillation from low bright to high in the brights areas like snow fields. The change is periodic and happens even when image is paused. Can anyone tell me what/how to fix?”

One option you may consider is your internet provider if you use a modem. This can be impacted by your internet access speed, if the picture clears up after a few minutes when you change channels or use a connected device such as blue ray. You may need to check to see if your mbps are sufficient. If that doesn't help call the geek squad. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I noticed something similar when watching a movie on my rig. The lighter background would dim and then brighten up when there was movement. SUPER distracting! If this is what you mean, then the changes I made might help you. Press the "Action Menu" button on your remote and go to Picture Adjustments>Light Sensor (turn this off) and then (from the same menu) go to Advanced Settings>Brightness>Auto Local Dimming and turn that off. There are several videos on YouTube that cover settings. Just search "sony xbr900e settings" and you should see them pop up. The most helpful, in my opinion was from "Momentum Tech Tips". Good luck!
