• If sound bar has hdmi out you should run dtv to sound bar, then sound bar to tv.

• Okay found out that the T.V. prompts you to connect directv via wireless. However, the Sony blog said you have to connect via LAN not wireless. Unhooked HDMI from directv receiver and reinstalled HDMI cable and setup using LAN. No problems now.

• Jose, I had similar issue, you'll need another audio connection, preferably Toslink digital.
