Return it and get another LG. This tv is garbage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My guess is that the LG actually -didn't- have a much better picture. Rather it was likely a HD (1080, sometimes called 2K) set that wasn't capable of showing that your signal was so-so. Whether my guess is right or not, I would start by driving the TV with high quality signal of some sort. If you have Netflix and can stream 4K, try that. Make sure that the TV is displaying a high quality image overall, and plan on spending some time calibrating the settings for it to do so. Once you get the picture looking great, make a note of ALL of the settings you used. These TV's use per-input settings, and the apps get their own as well. So, you'll need to copy all of those settings over to the RF input (antenna). If the PQ doesn't improve, try a 4K antenna. I have a 4K antenna connected to a HD HomeRun box and I use the "Videos" app in my various TV's to access the content via DLNA / UPnP across my home network. PQ is excellent on most stations with those that are 480 being generally "just ok".
