I've owned the 900f and sold it to buy the Z9D. The Z9D is 600 to 800 nits brighter and has near OLED black levels due to it's 600+ dimming zones. The 900f only has around 50 dimming zones. The 900f is a great TV, but the Z9D is in a whole other league.

Granted you will still get hallowing affect unlike OLEDs, but you will hardly notice it unless your intent is to go looking for it. However, it will definitely bring out that pop when watching HDR, unlike my previous OLED which TBH, tend to be too dim for my taste. The Z9D is really bright, something my previous OLED will never muster. Sony direct LED is truly imaging. Although you will not get the inky black levels you would get with an OLED, it comes mighty close because it has over 600 zones and each led can be turned off or on independent of others, The best part of it is I purchased it when it went in sale for only $1999 at BestBuy. Mind you, this used to be THE flagship model. As far as how it compares to the new F series, I can't tell you because who really owns two TVs and watch them side by side at home, that's the only time you will notice the difference between OLED and this Z9D. I'm a very happy customer, so far, meaning, there hasn't been anything physically wrong with the TV yet. So until then... P.S. I don't know whether the burn-in affect of having an OLED is true as I never I need my previous OELD long enough (I returned it), but at least owning my Z9D, I won't ever have to worry about it.
