The new update is in for the Sony Z9D 3d flicker problem. I had the same problem flicker at the top of the screen contacted Sony many times they called me tonight 12/10/18. Go to Sony.com/support scroll down to update to V6.5805 has 12/4/18 for the date. Download onto your computer then EXTRACT onto a flash drive. Make sure USB (F) is selected then extract it will say extracting files to USB (F).when done click eject before removing from computer. Make sure your TV is on their are 3 ports for USB I used number one not HDMI behind the other panel next to the HDMI ports. Plug it in the update might start immediately then your set will turn off mine did the update was not installed. Push the home button on your Sony remote then go to setting at the bottom of page. Push check for updates it will start downloading automatic then your Tv will turn off then start again then it will say updating each one took about 7-10 min after both restart the Android logo comes up. It will say update successful. The home page looks different the settings has the gear at the top. For the help page push help on your remote at the bottom left that page will look as it did. Tried it works great and the 3d looks better when I had to turn everything off then restart to get rid of the flicker. It will tell you when it's OK to remove flash drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the Sony Z9D is fully capable of displaying 3D blurays using the included active 3D glasses. There is a setting in the TV's menu to allow the TV to auto-detect 3D movies and display them. I believe this feature is set to on by default.
