• You should definitely be able to, as the specifications like a Digital Audio Output connection (on the bottom of the TV), and there is even an ARC HDMI input (HDMI 3).

• Yes, you can use external speakers with a Sony A1E. Audio Digital Optical Cable from TV to a receiver which drives the external speakers.
