As of yet, no it does not, BUT it would appear that HDMI 2.1 may be enabled at a later time via a firmware update. Keep in mind that this is only a possibility and there is no official word from Sony as to whether or not this will be done.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not sure if it does or not. It also may not be important. I am using standard HDMI cables and having no problems with 4K or HDR content. There are several good reviews on the internet that talk about HDMI cables. Almost all theses say that if your HDMI cables are newer than 2013 that they should work just fine. These very same reviews also say that you should not be paying hundreds of dollars for HDMI cables. If I find out something different I will amend my answer here. I hope this helps you out,
