Hunter you cannot adjust the sand. What I did to keep it vertical and keep my sound bar is I bought a universal mounting stand from Amazon and mounted the TV on it using the Versa. Looks pretty good. And go to a store that has the A9 and A8 the A9 wins by a big difference.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I went into one of my local best buy stores and checked out out the stand with an associate in depth. It's a well weighted stand and the angle it leans back is very small. I went ahead and straightened it fully vertical and it still supports the TV without any issue. The weight of the panel is not nearly enough to allow it to lean forward or fall on it's own. I'm buying one in a couple of weeks and plan on just putting a wedge under the back of the stand to put it into a fully vertical alignment. Mine will be in an enclosure of sorts anyway so I don't even have to worry about the cosmetics of the wedge. There is ZERO chance it will fall forward as it's well supported. Sony should have made a gimbal that allowed one to chose to have the angle or not. Will most likely tie in the back of the TV to my enclosure so it wouldn't move, even in the event of an earthquake.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I didn't like the way it leans back on it's stand. Out of 4 TV's one is on a stand, due to a wall that cannot have a TV on wall. I was told to get TV stand that has grooves in front. I don't think that's a good answer ! I would recommend if you plan on using a stand don't buy this TV. It's akward and does not look good at all. Ifyou can a on the wall placement is beautiful and have them place your sound bar on wall as well. It's easy and elegant looking.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The TV is amazing and worth the purchase! I currently have the TV wall-mounted above a fireplace on an adjustable bracket, so can tilt/angle as needed for maximum viewing pleasure. Unfortunately I have not mounted the TV on the stand, so I am not certain what adjustment options are available for the stand mounting option.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the stand is an easel, so it must lean back in order to support the TV. The TV itself is super-light, but the easel piece has all the "innards" so is very heavy. I, too, was concerned about the viewing angle since my husband & I sit in Stressless chairs that sit rather low; however, since the piece of furniture that the TV sits on is also low, one is unaware of the angle when watching the TV, so it doesn't impact the "watchability." Also, I was told by my Best Buy salesperson that OLED TV's are more forgiving in terms of viewing angles than other TV's. I don't see the advantage of the easel back, but there is one disadvantage that's immediately apparent if one uses the home theater speaker module as the center speaker and you're not mounting the TV on the wall but rather placing it on a TV stand of some sort...you have to sneak the center speaker's wire around the TV and put it in FRONT of the TV (not the most aesthetically pleasing look), whereas ordinarily we've always tucked the wire UNDER the TV, so that one only sees the center speaker itself (we have a BOSE system). Additionally, if you watch any of the cable news channels regularly, putting the home theater center speaker module in front of the TV on a TV stand blocks part of the crawler because the TV is sitting directly on your stand, whereas in most vertical stand scenarios the TV sits up a little bit and thus doesn't block any of the screen. Another disadvantage to this model (or perhaps all SONY models now? I only looked at the Master Series) is that one can't put the home theater center speaker module directly in the center of the TV screen because that's where the TV receives the signal from the remote control unit. So, you'll need to place the center module speaker slightly off-center (not a big deal) or just stand up close and over the module when you turn the TV on and off...again, not a deal breaker, but it is slightly annoying. On our old Bravia XBR, the signal was received on the right side of the front of the TV, so there was no conflict. My husband and I have always owned SONY TV's, so that's four decades of TV viewing, and we decided to stick with them. I don't know if I'd recommend springing the extra $$$ for this version as I've seen far less expensive OLED TV's in my friend's homes and -- to my untrained eye, at least -- they look just as good when watching cable TV. However, I can't truly judge the SONY on its full potential because we don't watch a lot of things that would take advantage of the TV's 4K capabilities.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t know whether you can adjust the stand because I had my television mounted on the wall. Although I don’t know the answer to adjusting the stand, the picture and sound quality is awesome. I think the main difference between the current model and the A8F is the sound quality. The sound is much better on the A9F. Also, the price difference is only like $700 unlike a difference of several thousand dollars.
