“My Onkyo TX-NR5009 does in fact receive DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD uncompressed audio files via HDMI 1.4. The Receiver has ARC, but not eARC. I realize ARC cannot receive uncompressed audio. But what about another HDMI 1.4 from the eARC? If not, why?”

Hi MichaelZ, Thank you for the inquiry. The receiver must have eARC as well for uncompressed audio and the receiver needs to support these formats. The X80J Audio Format supports Dolby™ Audio and Dolby™ Atmos. The connection from the source to the receiver must be the same standard for it to be compatible along with high-speed cables that also support these formats.
