“I have Direct Tv and if a storm comes up, the signal goes out and I have to switch to over-the-air signal. I have searched for an input for that but can’t find how to do it. The input screen does not provide an option for this. How do I get it?”

Do you have an Outdoor or Indoor Amplified HDTV Antenna? You need one of them and then scan for the channels. That's how I get over-the-air-signal.
