“I have this tv, and when I go to settings in the tv menu, the tv says it is up to date but the firmware is not the same as the latest firm update on the Sony site. The tv is connected to the network. Why is the tv not recognizing the latest update ?”

Mostly likely Sony has not pushed out the update, but can be downloaded from Sony site. I believe it says install at own risk, may be beta still not sure. I am also waiting on update to see if it addresses some of the TV features as well as controlling local dimming better making colors more. Vibrant like the 830E and fixing the blooming issues this TV has!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sometimes that happens. Click Home on the remote then go all the way down to settings then go over to help and try ask it to look for a new update. If it doesn't find any, you will get the prompt sooner or later automatically. If not, you can manually download the update from Sony's website to a USB drive and update it that way on your TV.
