“Why does the manufacturer warranty for this tv only cover 1 year through BestBuy, but at Costco the manufacturer warranty is 5 years if its the same manufacturer, Sony?”

Manufacturer does not give an extended warranty and its Costco who gets a 3rd party warranty from All State Insurance co. Costco absorbs the cost of such warranty to provide it as a benefit to their members. I prefer to pay for the extended warranty through Best Buy because of the convenience of home visit for large TVs and also because I know where to find them. Also BB is the only warranty that covers burn-in for Oled TVs.

In this instance, 65X900H will have a 1-year manufacturer warranty, while the 65X90CH will have a 5-year manufacturer warranty.
