“Can I use an HDMI wireless transmitter connected to an HDMI input on the soundbar connected to a receiver for rear speakers? This lack of rear speakers or ability to connect other speakers is awful! Should have bought a Sonos - I’d return this if I could!”

The answer, Ralph, really wasn’t an answer. You leave it vague by saying that Sony couldn’t “guarantee” the quality of a transmitter. I realize it wasn’t “designed” for rear speakers; but, in reading the numerous posts across multiple platforms, I feel it is the number one complaint. I am so disappointed in this HT-ST5000 and so want to return it and will look into it in the coming week. What is Sony’s / Best Buy’s return policy? IF Sony had the ability to add speakers to this soundbar, it would be near perfect. As it is, it’s not worth the huge price tag!
