“I bought this Sony Soundbar not too long ago I hooked it up along with my Sony 65inch 4k tv and my Samsung UHD player. I got a message on the UHD player that it wasn't detecting the HDR so the only way it would play it is in SDR instead. Why is that.”

Hi HDRIssue. We suggest doing a direct connection from the soundbar and your media player to the tv, if your soundbar is in between both devices. Regards, -Mark
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Sony bar does not pass HDR. You wil have to use both HDMI outputs on your DVD player. One for sound to the soundbar and the other, directly to your TV. Only way you will get HDR.
