- Answer Really wish the manager in Ogden Utah that sold the system to me had known this. He sold me the two radiator speakers that I now believe can extend sound to other rooms - but I specifically asked and was informed by the manager helping me that these would work as rear left/right surround speakers with the soundbar and sub. Nope...

QuestionI purchased an XBR940D 75" tv and the HTST9 Soundbar. I want to mount it to the wall and my installer is saying I need a mounting bracket, but everything I find in the manual and online is that there are just the two screw holes in the back of soundbar.

- Answer It's a heavy soundbar . Get you a 1x4 and rip it down the middle after that cut the split 1x4 40 inches long and mount under your tv screwing screw to stud then alin your sound bar holes and will work fine. I also used 3x3 l brackets to be sure it was supported , it is very steady on the wall

QuestionI am on my third sound bar. I get distortion from the sound bar at times. I can not be the only one with this problem. please help.

- Answer This sound bar has a lot of issues with distortion due to material quality. If you look under Sony forums and amazon reviews a lot of people encounter this. I bought one and it was repaired twice!!! I couldn't stand it and returned it didn't want to risk encountering more problems.

QuestionMy sound bar is hooked up using the ARC HDMI cable. The unit worked fine for about a year then would not have any sound when turned on. I did a reset and was fine until I turned everything off. The next morning when I turned everything on NO SOUND.

- Answer It sounds like your subwoofer has a issue that only can be fixed by a Sony support technician. I suggest you give them a call because this may be covered under there warranty policy for this subwoofer. Best of luck.

- Answer Hi Richard, Using 2 subwoofers in the soundbar is not possible. Using 2 different subwoofers at the same time is not guaranteed to work perfectly. Thanks, >Joffrey

QuestionThe geek squad set up our system, Sony 65" 4k with 7.1 channel soundbar and subwoofer. The TV sound is not crisp and clear when someone is talking, at times it's difficult to understand. What can I do to make the sound clearer?

- Answer Step 1) Put the sound bar into "Movie Mode" but pressing the Sound Field button on the remote control Step 2) Press the Voice button on the remote until it is on UP2 You should, of course, be running all of your primary components (sat/cable box, Blu-ray player, gaming system, etc) directly to the soundbar via HDMI rather than using an optical cable from the tv, and also HDMI ARC to the tv.

QuestionAt night in order to not disturb others, my wife & I want to listen to the TV audio on headphones instead of the soundbar. I know that I can connect a BT headphone to the ST-HT9 but can I connect two of those so both of us can listen in at the same time?

- Answer No, it only supports 1 bt headset at a time. You may also consider some other sound modes such as Night Mode

QuestionI have a new Directv Genie (wireless) installed and I can't get the remote to turn the soundbar on and off. Does anybody know which SONY remote code to use with a Directv remote?

- Answer Not sure if it is the same issue but I know that my spectrum DVR essentially sent a signal via HDMI that blocked ARC to audio output devices. I have no idea why, however after some reading online I found a fourm saying to remove / bend pin 13 (not positive this number is correct) on one of the male ends of the cable, so that it couldn't make contact with the cable box. I skeptically tried it with a crappy old cable and sure enough it fixed the issue. If I can find the article I will update with a link. Hope this helps, good luck!

QuestionI bought this Sony Soundbar not too long ago I hooked it up along with my Sony 65inch 4k tv and my Samsung UHD player. I got a message on the UHD player that it wasn't detecting the HDR so the only way it would play it is in SDR instead. Why is that.

- Answer Hi HDRIssue. We suggest doing a direct connection from the soundbar and your media player to the tv, if your soundbar is in between both devices. Regards, -Mark
