Yes, this receiver can handle multi zone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes absolutely. That's why you have different zones. Btw I totally love this A/V receiver . I have it connected to Klipsch speakers.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. While I have not done this yet, it is supposed to be possible. This receiver actually has 3 zones. I asked this question at the store prior to buying as I had read something about someone switching to Zone 2 and then only having 2.1 in zone 1. I was told that was no longer the case, and that I would in fact have the 5.1 available while 2 other speakers were in use in zone 2. It was when you go Zone 3 that this might apply.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Theoretically, yes. (I haven't actually implemented this feature) Within the "Zone Controls" menu there are three basic settings for Zone 2 and Zone 3 each. You can select: power on/off, zone input - Source, Cable, Video 1, SA-CD/CD, FM Tuner, USB, Bluetooth, Home Network, and, Music Services, and, zone volume - fixed or variable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you can't. Only one source can be processed at a time.
