“Can this system be controlled with an app to allow Zone 2 to project sound to another portion of my house? I plan to install this in my home theater, but would also like to use it to project sound onto my back porch.”

It does have an app that you can do so with. I have that setup with speakers throughout the house and outside on my 2nd zone. Haven’t perfected the app just yet, but it seems to have the capability.
